This year, the 2008 Tockwith and District Show President's Charity supported St Leonard's Hospice, a registered charity caring for people with life-threatening illnesses.

Their skilled and specially-trained staff offer daycare at the Hospice for people living in their own homes and in-patient palliative care in a purpose-built unit with 20 beds.

The many members of the Hospice staff include doctors, nurses, other professionals and an army of volunteers working together as a close and integrated team, sharing their skills and experience for the benefit of patients.

There is no charge to patients or relatives, and the Hospice is financially supported almost entirely by the generosity of the local community.
